About Your Team App
The Your Team App is a mobile application used to clock employees in and out during their shifts.
The app is designed for supervisors and floor managers who manage attendance on location. All clocking actions are linked directly to the Shifter platform and used for time registration and processing.
What the app is used for
With the Your Team App, you can:
- Clock employees in and out
- Register working times on location
- Send clocking data to Shifter
Available functions depend on your permissions in Shifter.
Downloading the app
The Your Team App is available for Android and iOS devices.
You can download the app from:
- Google Play Store
- Apple App Store
Search for “Shifter Your Team” app.
Before you start
Before using the app:
- You need a Shifter account
- You need the correct permissions
- You need your Shifter environment name (for example: companyname.shifter.nl)
Login to the App
When you open the app, the login screen is displayed.
Fields on the login screen
- Email
Enter your Shifter login email. - Password
Enter your Shifter password. - Environment
Enter your Shifter environment name (the part before .shifter.nl).
Example: for example.shifter.nl, enter example. - Remember me
Enable this option to stay logged in on this device. - Sign In
Tap to log in.
Log in
- Enter your email, password, and environment.
- (Optional) Enable Remember me.
- Tap Sign In.
If the details are correct, you are logged in and taken to the main screen.
Notes
- Do not include https:// or .shifter.nl in the environment field.
- Make sure there are no extra spaces.
- You need the correct permissions to use the app.
Landing Page - Employees
After logging in, the app opens on the Employees screen. Here you see the navigation bar too.
Navigation Bar
At the bottom of the screen, you can switch between:
- Employees: Overview of employee clocking
- Scan: Clock employees using codes
- Scan List: Overview of recent scan logs
- Card Reader: Clock employees by reading the employee cards with NFC
- Settings: App and account settings

Top bar actions
At the top of the screen, you see the following buttons:
- Refresh
Reloads the employee list and updates clocking information. - Employee Finder
Opens "Employee Finder" filters to load the employee list (for example by deparment, location, event). The page is explained explicitly below.
The number next ot this icon indicates how many filters are currently active. - Clear
X button removes all the employees on the the current view. - Add employee
Allows you to manually add or select an employee for clocking actions. The manual employee addition page is explained explicitly below.
Employee List actions
- Search bar
Use this to quickly find an employee by name. - Employee list
Each employee card shows:- Name and profile picture (pictures display if they already recorded in the Shifter in the person's details, if not, only initials appears)
- Shift number
- Start Time of Shift and shift status (for example: Assigned, Writing, or Written)
- Clocked times
- Performance grade
- Quick actions
- Thumbs-up icon: Rate the work performance of the employee for the shift
- Clock icon: Perform a clock action for this employee
- Tap on the Employee Card: Redirect to the employee and shift details page, where you can also see the scan logs and do the clock actions
Employee Finder
The Employee Finder is used to filter and load employees from the schedule into the Employees list.
You open this screen by tapping the filter icon in the top bar of the Employees screen.
What this screen is used for
The Employee Finder helps you:
- Limit the employee list to a specific context
- Load only relevant employees for clocking
- Avoid scrolling through unrelated employees
Filter options
You can filter employees using the following fields:
- Department
Select the department to include employees scheduled in that department. - Location
Select the location where the employees are scheduled. - Event
Select a specific event to load employees assigned to that event. - Time Window
Select the time range for which employees are scheduled- Today Option: Select all shifts that (partly) occur today. If either the planned start or planned end is today, those shifts will appear.
- Manual: Adjust the time range to load all shifts that are fully within the time range. Will load shifts only if both the planned start and end times are within the selected time range.
Each filter shows the currently selected value.
You can clear a filter by tapping the X icon next to it.
Loading employees
At the bottom of the screen, you have two options:
- Add to existing list
Adds the filtered employees to the current Employees list. - Load new list
Remove existing employees and replace the current Employees list with the newly filtered result.
Use Add to existing list if you want to keep employees already shown.
Use Load new list if you want to start with a clean list.
Navigation
- Tap the back arrow in the top-left corner to return to the Employees screen without applying changes.
Add Employee
You can manually add an employee to the Employees list using the Add Employee action in the top bar.
Open the Select Employee screen
- Go to the Employees screen.
- Tap the Add employee icon (plus person icon) in the top bar.
The Select Employee screen opens.
- Use the search field at the top to find an employee by name.
- Tap an employee to select them.
The selected employee is highlighted and marked with a check icon, and the selected item color turns to red.
If the employee is linked to a partner, this is shown next to the name.
Tap Add Person to add the selected employee to the Employees list.
If the employee has already a shift for the day, is now available in the list for clocking actions.
Navigation
- Tap the back arrow to return without adding an employee.
This option is typically used when an employee is not loaded via filters but still needs to be clocked manually.
Employee & Clock Actions
Employee Actions
The Employee Actions screen opens when you tap an employee card in the Employees list. This screen is mainly used for reviewing shift activity and accessing clock actions for a specific employee.
Employee overview
At the top of the screen, you see:
- Employee name and profile image
- Department and role
- Shift number
- Current shift status (for example: Writing)
- Last clock action (for example: Clocked In)
Clock hours and rate performance
- Tap Clock Hours & Rate Performance to open the Clock Actions screen.
- From there, you can:
- Clock the employee in or out
- Adjust clock-in or clock-out times
- Assign a performance grade and comment
Logs history
The Logs History section shows a chronological list of recent actions for this employee:
- Clock-in and clock-out attempts
- Break start and break end actions
- System messages related to clocking
Status indicators
- Green dot: Action was successful
- Red dot: Action failed or was not allowed (for example: no shift found)
This log helps you quickly understand what has already happened during the shift and identify clocking issues.
Clock Actions
The Clock Actions screen is used to clock an employee in or out and to assign a performance grade for the shift.
You can open this screen by tapping the clock icon next to an employee in the Employees list or by tapping CLOCK HOURS & RATE PERFORMANCE on the Employee Actions page.
What you see on this screen
At the top of the screen, the selected employee and shift are shown:
- Employee name and initials
- Shift number, date, and current shift status
Clock In and Clock Out
- Shows the current clock-in time for the shift.
- Tap the time field to adjust the clock time manually.
- Tap Now to set the time to the current moment.
- Tap the clear icon to remove the clock-in time.
Performance grade
- Rate performance
Assign a performance grade by selecting the number of stars. - Performance comment
(Optional) Add a short comment about the employee’s performance during the shift.
Confirming changes
- Tap Confirm to save the clock times and performance grade.
The changes are applied to the shift and sent to Shifter for processing.
Scan (Clock with Camera) & Scan List
The Scan screen is used to clock employees in or out by scanning a QR code or barcode with the device camera.
You open this screen by tapping Scan in the bottom navigation bar.
How scanning works
- Point the camera at the QR code or barcode.
- Make sure the code is fully visible inside the scanning frame.
- When the code is recognized, a scan result appears.
- Tap the scan result to confirm the clock action.
You will be redirected to the clock actions page for the shift or the person scanned by the camera.
Notes
- The scan is only completed after you tap to confirm to make sure you proceed with the aimed code
- If the scan is not allowed (for example, no shift found or outside the allowed time window), a message is shown.
- Make sure the code is clean and clearly visible for reliable scanning.
Scan List
The Scan List page shows a chronological list of recent actions for all scan actions
- Clock-in and clock-out attempts
- Break start and break end actions
- System messages related to clocking
Status indicators

This log helps you quickly understand what has already happened during the shift and identify clocking issues.
Card Reader (NFC clocking)
The Card Reader screen is used to clock employees in or out using an NFC card.
You open this screen by tapping Card Reader in the bottom navigation bar.
Card reader status
At the top of the screen, the Card Reader Status shows whether NFC scanning is enabled.
- Enabled means the device is ready to scan cards.
- If NFC is not available or disabled on the device, scanning will not work.
- If disabled, you need to go to device settings by tapping on the "card reader status" or by manually stepping into your device settings. In your NFC settings, make sure you enable NFC to be able to scan cards with your device.
How card scanning works
- Tap Start Scan.
- Hold the device close to the employee’s NFC card.
- Keep the card steady for 2–3 seconds.
- The card is scanned automatically.
You will proceed to the clock actions page for the found person.
Notes
- The position of the NFC reader may differ per device. If scanning does not work immediately, move the card slightly around the back of the device.
- A message is shown if the scan is not allowed (for example, no shift found or outside the allowed time window).
- NFC scanning is intended for clocking with personnel cards without needing the camera.
If no person is found for the NFC tag you read, you can connect the scanned tag to any existing employee by tapping to ADD TO EMPLOYEE and then searching the name of the person.
Settings
The Settings screen is used to adjust app preferences and view basic app information.
You open this screen by tapping Settings in the bottom navigation bar.
Preferences
- Theme
Choose how the app is displayed:- Light mode
- System default
- Dark mode
- Language
Select the language used in the app interface. - Enable Break
Enables or disables break registration during clocking. - Remove Checksum
Controls whether checksum validation is applied during clocking. This option is typically used only in specific operational setups.
Information
- About
Shows general information about the app. - Version
Displays the currently installed app version.
Log out
- Log Out
Signs you out of the app and returns you to the login screen.
